I had planned to go up to north wales kitesurfing but decided at the last minute to go to portland because the forecast looked better in the south.
On the way to the harbour I stopped off at windtek and bought a 32cm fin for my carve 121 so that I could use it with smaller sails.
The day was really sunny and the wind was blowing cross on, creating small chop to jump off.
There were lots of people out on farly small kit but I was eager to try my new board so I took the Starboard carve121, 32cm fin and 5.7m North convertigo out.
Whilst not that powered up I could get planing easily and had a great couple of hours blasting back and forth.
The wind then eased off so I rigged my new 7.0m 3 cam sail bought from a Decathalon store in a sale for £119 !
That together with a 38cm fin in the Starboard got me consistantly planing again untill I was finished for the day.
I must say I was very impressed with the sail given it's price, it felt just as good as my old Pryde V8.
All in all a great session.
